Welcome back to the Lennox Head Fun Dog Show 2025 – the cutest event of the year!
This year, we're excited to return as part of the Love Lennox Festival, held in beautiful Lennox Park behind The Shed. Get ready to enter your pooch in one (or more!) of seven fun categories, each with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. We’re also thrilled to announce an amazing raffle, with proceeds being donated to the Northern Rivers Animal Service. So dust off your sewing machines, stock up on treats, and start practising those awesome tricks—we can’t wait to see you and your four-legged friends!

Get ready for some fast-paced fun in this two-dog race! You'll start by positioning your dog at the start line and handing the lead over to one of our friendly Dog Show handlers. Then, you’ll walk a short distance to the finish line. On the count of three, the handlers will drop the leads, and you'll call your dog to “come!” The first dog to reach their owner and sit wins the round. Two dogs will race at a time, so we’ll run heats followed by a grand final to crown the ultimate Doggy Dash champion!
6. Talent Time
Is your dog full of quirky skills or impressive obedience tricks? Talent Time is their moment to shine! Whether it's singing, a fancy spin, rolling over, playing dead, or a completely unique talent—this is the stage for pups with personality. Bring your treats, props, or anything you need to show off your dog’s special abilities. Big or small, serious or silly—if it’s a talent, we want to see it!
7. Best Costume
This one speaks for itself! From designer outfits and superhero costumes to matching-owner ensembles and fabulous accessories, the options are endless when it comes to dressing your dog to impress. Whether your pup is rocking sparkles, bowties, or custom couture, we can’t wait to see them strut their stuff. If your dog is new to dress-ups, a quick online search for “how to get my dog to enjoy dress-ups” is a great place to start—just remember to use plenty of treats and praise while they’re wearing their outfit to keep the experience fun and positive!
1. Weiner Race
This is a breed-specific event just for Dachshunds (including Mini Dachshunds)!
If you have a sausage dog, this is the race for you! The track will be a short and sweet 10 metres, and your pup will race from the start line to you—their beloved human. The first dog to reach their owner wins! You’re welcome to bring a second person to act as your dog’s handler at the start line, or we can happily provide a handler for you. The event space is fully fenced, giving your pup a safe and secure 15x6 metre area to run their heart out.
Get Ready to Wag!
Have your dog in any position—standing, sitting, or lying down—and do whatever it takes to get that tail wagging! You can use treats, toys, silly voices, or verbal praise to bring on the wiggles. While you focus on the front end, our judges will be keeping their eyes on the back!
HINT: What are your dog’s favourite words to hear? Use them to your advantage!
Does your dog LOVE peanut butter?
Thanks to The Source Bulk Foods, we’ll have their delicious, dog-friendly peanut butter ready to go! Each pup will be given a stick with peanut butter, and the first dog to lick it completely clean wins.
It’s simple, it’s tasty, and it’s loads of fun—tail wags guaranteed!
The judges will be looking for the dog that gives them the most joyful paw shake. You’ll have a chance to demonstrate your pup’s best shake before letting the judges take a turn.
Feel free to bring your dog’s favourite treats if you think a tasty reward will help them deliver their best performance—because nothing beats a polite pup with a wagging tail and a charming shake!

You may enter as many of the categories as you like, one dog per entry.

If you have more than one dog in your family, you may enter those additional dogs, up to 3 per family.

To register, you must be at least 18+ years old, or have consent from a parent or guardian who is at least 18+ years old.

Registrations must be made one week prior to the commencement of the competition.

Online entries close early Friday 13th June 2025.

The cost of registration will be $5 per dog per category. Payment will be taken online prior to the event and on the morning of the show.

All monies collected from the raffle will be donated to Northern Rivers Animal Service.

There will be a total of 3 prizes awarded per competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. No equal placings. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.

Judges will be confirmed closer to the date of the show.

The judge’s decision will be final. No discussions on the outcomes will be entered into.

Rough treatment of the animals will not be tolerated and participants who partake in inappropriate treatment of their animals will be disqualified.

At any stage, the event manager can request documents to prove the ownership and details about the dog entered into the event. Refusal to comply with this rule results in disqualification from the category without a refund of the ticket purchase.

Please keep your dog on a leash whilst in the Love Lennox festival area.
